Roommate Found Shot Dead In Home, Police Say He Was Killed During A Burglary

A man was shot to death during a burglary at his home and police say a suspect is behind bars.
Around 9 p.m. on June 9, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in Merritt Island, Florida. They were called after the victim’s roommate returned home and found the victim dead.
Deputies arrived and found Joseph Hall with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators determined the victim was shot during a burglary at his home.
Deputies identified Cory Lyle, 49, as the suspect and he was arrested in recent days.
Lyle was charged with first-degree felony murder, armed occupied burglary and two counts of grand theft of a firearm. He is being held in a Florida jail without bond.
