Roommate in Florida returns home, finds three people, two dogs dead after what police believe was murder-suicide
A Florida roommate returning home found three people and two dogs dead inside a Florida home, law enforcement officials said.
According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, on Feb. 20, a 52-year-old male fatally shot a 53-year-old woman, a 33-year-old man and two dogs at the home before turning the gun on himself.
Detectives arrived at the scene around 6:30 p.m. and while collecting evidence and processing the scene found a suicide note, said police, who “believe depression could be a motivating factor in this incident.”
Officials did not immediately release the names of the alleged shooter or victims.
A next-door neighbor told the newspaper Treasure Coast Palm she didn’t hear anything the day of the “shocking” murder-suicide.
“They were quiet,” Monica Ward recalled of the neighbors she thought were a mother, father and their son living in the rented single-story home.
“I know there were two brothers living there and one moved out a couple months ago, I believe,” Ward added.
