'It's still probably illegal or whatever,': Florida Teacher Accused Of Having Sex With His Student
A Florida high school social studies teacher is accused of having sex with one of his students, authorities said.
On May 16, Sunlake High School officials in Land O’ Lakes learned the teacher was possibly sexually involved with a pupil and they contacted local authorities, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
According to a Pasco County Sheriff’s Office arrest affidavit, the teenage student alleged they had consensual sex with their teacher, Skyler Seidenberg, 30, at his home on three separate occasions.
Citing a “controlled” phone call between the sheriff’s office and Seidenberg that’s outlined in the affidavit, the Tampa Bay Times reported the teacher told a deputy that the sexual contact occurred only after the student was of legal age but that “obviously it’s still probably illegal or whatever, or whatever is going to happen.”

“As you are aware, our Sunlake staff is outstanding and works hard every day to benefit our students, and their health, safety, and wellbeing is our highest priority,” Principal Kara Merlin told parents in an automated phone call. “That’s what makes this news all the more shocking and disappointing.”
Seidenberg has been placed on administrative leave, and he was charged with a felony count of an authority figure soliciting or engaging in sexual conduct with a student.
