An argument inside a Florida home left one person dead. Now, a felon is accused of murder.
This week, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office in Florida announced the arrest of 27-year-old Richard Scott Holovak in connection to the case.
On Nov. 23, deputies responded to a home in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and found a 34-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died. The name of the victim has not been released.
Investigators identified Holovak as the suspect and arrested him.
Holovak admitted going to the home after being told of an argument, according to the sheriff’s office. Holovak said he went to the home and brandished a gun to scare the victim. He said the victim acted aggressively and he shot him once in the torso.
Police found no evidence the victim was armed.
Holovak was charged with second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
