Florida man shot his mom one time during argument, now accused of murder

A man is accused of killing his mom during an argument, police in Florida said.

Nicholas Noren was charged with first-degree murder in connection to the shooting. He was taken to the Pinellas County Jail after his arrest.

Around 2 a.m. on Nov 5, Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a Dunedin, Florida, home for a possible homicide.

Investigators determined that Noren, 31, got in an altercation with his 60-year-old mother, Donna Noren. During the argument, Nicholas Noren shot his mom one time, according to the sheriff’s office.

Donna Noren was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police have not said what led to the altercation between the two. Deputies continue to investigate the shooting.
