Man gunned down as he returned from shopping with his mom, suspect arrested

A man was shot and killed as he was out shopping with his mother and police said they recently arrested the suspected killer.

Franci Joseph, 24, has been charged in connection to the fatal Nov. 16 shooting, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. The victim has not been named as the family invoked a Florida law that protects the person’s identity.

Joseph was arrested this week.

Around 1:30 p.m. Nov. 16, deputies responded to a shooting in Lake Worth, Florida, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim and his mother were heading home after shopping at a department store, according to the sheriff’s office. They came across a group of people and a vehicle stopped in the road. When the victim tried to drive around, Joseph shot and killed the victim.

Detectives do not believe the victim was the intended target.
