A man is accused of stabbing two people at party and then walking into a grocery store covered in blood, according to a report.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Florida said the incident started at a birthday party on Sept. 12, according to WJTV. Derrick Charles Emery, 32, left the party with two other people.
Witnesses said Emery was intoxicated and told to go home.
The two people with him volunteered to take him home. But, on the way, Emery stabbed them for no reason, according to the report. The victims returned to the party for help. Both have been stabilized.
Emery eventually walked into a Publix, with a knife and blood on his shirt, according to the report.
When police spoke to Emery, he said he believed the victims were going to hurt him, according to the report. He described the incident as a “blur.”
