Florida High School Football Coach Accused Of Molesting Team Member More Than 50 Times
A former teacher and football coach is facing accusations of inappropriate conduct with juveniles — including a teen who said his coach molested him more than 50 times.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested Matthew Hike twice in recent weeks in connection to the allegations.
On March 23, administrators at Livingston Academy in Seffner, Florida, contacted detectives after a woman reported her grandchild had been touched by Matthew Hike, according to the sheriff’s office.
The incidents happened when Hike was employed as a teacher, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators learned Hike sent porn to the victim and touched him at least five different times, according to the sheriff’s office. Hike was arrested and released from jail. Police, at that time, asked other victims to speak up.
On April 6, Hike was arrested again. This time a teen told detectives that between 2017 to 2021, Hike molested him more than 50 times, according to the sheriff’s office.
Hike worked as a football coach at Bloomingdale High School but was not a teacher. The alleged victim was on the team.
Hike faces a host of charges including several counts of lewd or lascivious molestation.
