A Florida teenager has been arrested after cops say he tried to kill a man and keep his body in a closet “to fulfill his sexual fantasies.”
Logan Smith, 18, is charged with attempted murder after investigators say he attacked a jogger in the area of Batavia and Kings Highway in Cocoa, Florida, on Jan. 17, FOX 2 reported.
Before the attack, investigators say Smith gathered items for the murder, including a rubber mallet, an aerosol Axe deodorant can and a clothing robe belt, and placed them in the driveway between two parked cars outside his home, according to FOX 2.
According to the arrest affidavit obtained by FOX 2, Smith walked across the street and hit. He then waited for the victim, who regularly ran by the house. When the victim passed, Smith chased him.
Smith tossed the rope over the victim's head and his neck, a deputy wrote in the affidavit, FOX 2 reported.
Cops said the victim immediately realized what was happening and used his martial arts training to turn the tables on his attacker, according to FOX 2.
According to police, Smith told them he watched the victim for about six weeks, studying his routine as he exercised and ran past Smith’s house, FOX 2 reported.
He allegedly said he had made the decision to kill the victim after watching a movie that showed violent, murderous acts, according to FOX 2.

Deputies say Sam was going to kill the victim by strangulation before dragging his body home on the bed sheet, FOX 2 reported.
He explained that the mallet would be used to strike the victim and the aerosol would be used to spray the victim’s eyes, disabling his vision, according to FOX 2.
The arrest report obtained by FOX 2 also stated that Smith wanted to put the body in a closet "and the defendant could have the victim’s body all to himself. The defendant stated that he also planned to play with the victim to fulfill his sexual fantasies.”
Deputies said the victim told them that he typically runs about four times a week and has never met Smith, seen him or spoken to him, FOX 2 reported.
Smith is being held without bond at the Brevard County Jail, according to FOX 2.
