A Florida woman stabbed her sister multiple times using a kitchen knife during a drunken argument and she now faces first-degree murder charges, according to police.
The Bradford County Sheriff’s Office said the sisters, Amanda Godwin and Rachel Combs, got into an argument that turned physical at their home in Bradford County around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.
Combs, 31, was found laying in a pool of blood when officers arrived, according to reports.
According to officers, Godwin, 35, quickly admitted to stabbing her sister using a kitchen knife. When deputies arrived, Godwin was over her sister, covered in blood and screaming for them to save her sister, according to police.
While deputies tried to save Combs, Godwin continuously yelled “it’s all my fault,” according to WCJB.

According to the Bradford County Chief Deputy, Brad Smith, Godwin was “very distraught.” He said, “I was watching some of the interview video just a little bit ago. Even when there wasn’t an investigator in the room with her she was whaling. You could just see and hear the agony that she was in. Obviously it’s hit her very hard.”
Combs died about 30 minutes after police arrived, reports said. Godwin reportedly stabbed her sister once in the chest and once in the arm, according to deputies.
Their aunt, who owns the home, said the sisters did not have a history of violence with each other. Authorities stated Godwin was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
Smith said, “There was some indication that alcohol was involved. We don’t know to what extent and that will be a part of the ongoing investigation. There will be an autopsy and that usually takes a couple of months to get the toxicology reports back. So, that’ll give us a clearer indication of what was occurring.”
Police said Godwin is being held in the Bradford County Jail and charged with first-degree murder. Bond has not been set in her case.
