Former Friend Testifies Doomsday Mom Lori Vallow Threatened to Kill and Bury Her — 'She Said Something About Bleach and Trash Bags'

The Doomsday mom trial continues in Idaho and a former friend testified on May 3 that Lori Vallow once threatened to kill her and then cover up the murder, according to authorities.

Audrey Barattiero revealed that she had refrained from disclosing the threat during the grand jury hearing due to fear, according to East Idaho News. Barattiero asserted that Lori had made the remarks in October 2019, the same month that Tammy Daybell died.

While visiting Lori at her home, Barattiero testified that she asked her if anything “weird” was going on. She claims Lori was laughing when she told her, “You’re so naive… So trusting… You’ll believe anything. You think the world is all unicorns and rainbows.”

Barattiero went on to say that Vallow “threatened to kill me” and “she would cut me up.” Barattiero added, “Something about that she wasn’t in the mental place to do that but she would get herself in that place to be able to do it… She said something about bleach and trash bags. And she would bury me,” the East Idaho News reported.

During her testimony, Barattiero also said Chad Daybell, Lori’s fifth husband, claimed a deceased relative told him Tammy would die before 50. Tammy died in October 2019 at the age of 49.

Lori and Chad were married in November 2019, just days after her two children disappeared and a month after Tammy’s death. Tammy was Chad’s wife. Lori’s husband, Charles Vallow, was killed the summer before she married Chad.

Initially, Tammy’s death was listed as pulmonary edema and it was ruled a natural death. However, officials now believe she was asphyxiated and her death was a homicide.

Lori is accused of murdering her two children and conspiring to kill her fifth husband’s first wife. Vallow has pleaded not guilty to the charges against her. If convicted, she faces life in prison.

The trial against Lori Vallow is ongoing.
