A former high school teacher in Idaho has been arrested after she allegedly had sex with a teenage boy and provided him with marijuana, according to authorities.
On Nov. 6, officers pulled over a vehicle because the tail lights were out, the East Idaho News reported.
When police approached the vehicle, they reportedly found 36-year-old Jessica Lawson in the passenger seat and a 16- or 17-year-old male in the driver seat, officials said.
The teen driver reportedly told police that Lawson asked him to drive because she was too drunk to drive.
When talking with police, the teen also reportedly said Lawson gave him marijuana and he was under the influence of that substance, but he had no alcohol.
Authorities said Lawson allegedly picked up the teen at his house where he lives with his parents around 11 p.m. They then returned to her home where she drank, he smoked marijuana and they had sex.
Lawson allegedly called the minor’s parents that night and admitted to taking the teen back to her house and giving him alcohol, the East Idaho News reported. Lawson reportedly did not admit to anything else, including having sexual contact with the minor.
Lawson was arrested and charged with two counts of felony rape of a minor, authorities said.
