What Lies Beneath: NASA Scientist Believes Aliens May Have Found 'Perfect' Hiding Spot in Earth's Oceans
Could the truth about aliens be hiding in Earth's oceans? A scientist entertains the idea that aliens might exist beneath us rather than hovering in the skies above.
Kevin Knuth, who served at NASA's Ames Research Center from 2001 to 2005, proposed the idea of aliens having a secret base underwater during an episode of the "Theories of Everything" podcast.
Knuth contends that it would make perfect sense for aliens to reside underwater, given that 75 percent of the Earth's surface is water, and we really have very little access to it.”
In a recent interview with The Daily Star, he stated if aliens were “going to hide out somewhere, that's perfect."
This notion aligns with previous suspicions that aliens might be located in the mysterious Bermuda Triangle, notorious for its history of disappearing aircraft and other unexplained phenomena.
The scientist argued that beings from aquatic environments would find planets with bodies of water more suitable for habitation. According to Knuth, atmospheres on various planets exhibit extreme temperature fluctuations, making living on the surface challenging. In contrast, oceans provide a more stable and comfortable environment for extraterrestrial life.
Knuth cautioned that the discovery of aliens, if it were to occur, could pose risks due to potential incompatibilities in biology. He emphasized the need for caution, stating, "The biology is probably very different. You don't want to touch them… your biology isn't compatible, so there's going to be all sorts of horrible chemical reactions."
Considering the vastness of unexplored ocean territory — with only 5 percent explored, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration — the possibility of aliens hiding in secret locations cannot be ruled out.
However, Knuth's speculative theory raises questions about the potential consequences of encountering extraterrestrial life.
In a related development, recent NASA findings have sparked renewed interest in the search for water on other planets. The agency's Perseverance rover has completed the exploration of a lake that once existed in Jezero Crater on Mars.

The collected samples, particularly "Lefroy Bay" and "Otis Peak," contain materials such as silica and phosphate associated with preserving ancient fossils and signs of life on Earth.
While this research focuses on the Martian landscape, it inadvertently adds fuel to the imaginative speculation about the potential existence of extraterrestrial life, whether hidden in the depths of our oceans or on distant planets like Mars.
