Nearly a year after a teen was gunned down during a pot deal, police in California said they arrested a suspect in the case.
On Dec. 9, 2021, 17-year-old Darion Wheeler was fatally shot in Fresno, California, police said.
Investigators said Wheeler was trying to buy marijuana arraigned through an online app.
Wheeler was meeting 22-year-old Clarence Houghton who was supposed to provide the drug, police said. However, Houghton shot the teen and then fled the area.
Houghton left the state, and last week police announced he was arrested in Henderson, Nevada.
He is currently awaiting extradition to California and faces a murder charge.
