Gang Members Killed Innocent Virginia Children's Hospital Worker Taking Out Trash In Order To 'Send A Message'
Four members of an East Coast drug gang have been convicted of murdering a Virginia woman as she took out the garbage.
Lillian Bond, 59, was the victim of a 2016 plot in which gang members had orders to kill the next person they saw leaving a notorious Norfolk drug house, authorities said.
Federal prosecutors alleged Nelson Evans, 32, and Kalub Shipman, 35, were in line to receive $10,000 from leaders of the Nine Trey gang. The Augusta Free Press reported that gang had a cocaine drug circuit between Greensboro, North Carolina, and the Norfolk, Virginia, area.
The murder-for-hire scheme was ordered after a drug dealer refused to pay $81,000 for a shipment of cocaine, authorities said.
Federal prosecutor Jessica Aber described Bond as “an innocent person” who worked for about 20 years at a children's hospital.

A Justice Department statement said Shipman was found guilty March 20 of murder while engaging in a drug trafficking offense, murder for hire and three related counts.
Evans was convicted of murder for hire, conspiracy to commit murder for hire and use of a firearm resulting in death.
Two reputed leaders of the Nine Trey gang were also convicted.
Landis Jackson, 38, and Jaquate Simpson, 38, were found guilty on eight counts, including two counts of murder and one of murder for hire.
"The suspects in this case had a complete disregard for anyone but themselves, and because of pure greed, took an innocent woman’s life to send a message,” FBI Special Agent Brian Dugan said.
A sentencing date for the four suspects has not been set. All four face mandatory life sentences.
