Georgia Man Arrested For Murdering Woman He Brought To Hospital For Help, Authorities Say
A Georgia man is under arrest on suspicion of murder after he brought an injured woman to the hospital and she later died, authorities said.
On the evening of Sept. 12, Reco Stephens arrived at the emergency room of Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin in Milledgeville with 23-year-old Shani King, who was suffering from a gunshot wound, the Union-Recorder reported.
King's injuries proved fatal, and deputies from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and Milledgeville Police Department opened an investigation into her death.
Stephens was identified as a suspect and booked into the Baldwin County Detention Center, where he was being held without bond.
Officials have not disclosed a possible motive for the shooting.
