A Georgia man is accused of murdering a woman during a domestic dispute, and the alleged killer waited in the vehicle with the victim until officers arrived, police said.
Last week, authorities in Clayton County, Georgia, announced the arrest of Jornel Jamil Williams, 40, in connection to the case.
Around 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 22, Clayton County police responded to a shooting car.
When police arrived at an apartment complex, they found Williams sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot. Police also said the victim as inside the car.
As officers approached, they saw Williams still with the gun, police said.
He refused to exit the vehicle and police started to evacuate the apartments. Williams then decided to surrender, police said.
The victim was found dead in the car from multiple gunshots, police said. Her name has not been released.
Police said they continue to investigate but described the incident as a domestic dispute.
Williams was charged with malice murder, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.
