Police Say Georgia Man With Long Criminal History Fatally Shot Man Following Argument: Report
A Georgia man with a long criminal history who police say fatally shot a man after an argument, according to a report.
WSB-TV reports that Lamarion Sherod Banks has been charged with murder in connection to the killing of Rafaeli Thomas, 46. Police went to W. Tinsley Street at 7 p.m. May 20 for the report of a person shot.
Officers found Thomas with gunshot wounds to the upper body, and he was taken to a hospital, where he died, according to WSB-TV. Investigators were able to identify Banks the suspect quickly.
When police arrested Banks, they found a 9-mm gun with the same kind of bullets that were found on scene.
Witnesses told police they saw Thomas and Banks arguing before the shooting, WSB-TV reports. According to police, Banks was on probation at the time of the shooting.
Banks is charged with malice murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
