A 73-year-old Georgia woman was killed by a tenant who lived in her home, according to police.
On April 5, the Sandy Springs Police Department responded to a call about an unknown disturbance.
When they arrived, they encountered a suspect, Chelci Chisholm, 59, in the garage holding an object and challenging officers. After a brief struggle, Chisholm was taken into custody, according to Sandy Springs police.
When officers entered the home to investigate, they found the body of Marlene Diane Colon, who owned the property.
Police say Chisholm rented a room in the victim’s home. They did not reveal how Colon was killed or if they have a motive for the alleged murder.
Chisholm has been charged with malice murder, aggravated assault and obstruction of justice. She is now being held in a Georgia jail.
