Some residents in Virginia got an unexpected Christmastime visitor recently: a Gingerbread Man who was ‘not holly jolly."

During the evening on Dec. 13, some homeowners in Arlington were shocked when their Ring doorbell cameras captured a person dressed in an inflatable Gingerbread Man costume trying to enter their house, according to WUSA-TV.

In the footage shared by the station, the Gingerbread Man can be seen looking around before walking up to the door and trying to open it.

"We noticed the door was trying to be pushed," the homeowner told WUSA. "We look at the camera, I’m looking at this guy in a costume."

The resident called the Arlington County Police Department’s non-emergency line to report the incident and during the call, the operator had to confirm that it was, indeed, someone dressed as a Gingerbread Man.

In the video, you can also see the Gingerbread Man walking slowly down the street, according to WUSA. The Gingerbread Man allegedly tried to get into another nearby home.

In a statement, the Arlington County Police told WUSA that the Gingerbread Man tried to open the door of the residence, but found the door was locked and walked away.

One of the neighbors reportedly approached the Gingerbread Man, and they said the person “stated he was looking for a friend’s house,” WUSA reported.

Another resident noted, “It was not holly jolly.”
