Ohio Man Accused of Shooting 9-Year-Old Girl to Death in Barrage of Nearly 30 Bullets
An Ohio man was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 9-year-old girl, officials announced.
Qasseem Dixon, 25, was charged with possessing weapons under disability as well as the aggravated murder of Da'Myiah Barton-Pickens.
Around 11:30 p.m. on July 10, Dixon is accused of firing approximately 28 rounds into a home during what is suspected to be a drive-by shooting in Silverton, WLWT reported, citing jail records.
Barton-Pickens suffered a deadly gunshot wound during the incident.
Court documents show Dixon may have been retaliating for an earlier alleged robbery possibly involving the victim’s relative and another man.
The man, prosecutors alleged, then went with Dixon to the victim’s house and shot it up.
In addition to the murder and weapons counts, prosecutors said Dixon was also charged with possession of cocaine and fentanyl and felony fleeing and eluding, according to WLWT.
