Florida Boy, 14, Accused of Murdering Sixth Grader Girl in ‘Unthinkable’ Crime

A 14-year-old boy is accused of murdering a sixth-grade girl at a home in Florida, according to authorities.

The Lake City Police Department has announced the arrest of Jatarious Rashad Fluellen and charged him with the Aug. 24 fatal shooting of the 12-year-old victim, WJXT reported.

Officials said the girl was at a home in Lake City around 9 p.m. when bullets were fired into the residence and she was struck while sitting on a couch.

Paramedics attempted to save the girls life, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fluellen, who was arrested on Aug. 28, faces charges of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

According to police, there may be more arrests made in the case.

A relative of the victim told WJXT the death of the preteen who loved to dance was “unthinkable.”
