Tiny Terror: 8-Year-Old Ohio Girl Hits the Road — and a Mailbox — in Mom's SUV While on Quest for Target Deals
An 8-year-old girl in Ohio recently took her mother's SUV and drove by herself to a Target store miles away in another town.
The Bedford Police Department said the young girl and her mother's 2020 Nissan Rogue were reported missing at around 9 a.m. on Sept. 15.
The girl's family said they had last seen her at home around two hours earlier.
Investigators learned a small child had been spotted driving nearby, but the SUV was eventually spotted in a Target parking lot in the nearby town of Bainbridge, nearly 13 miles away from the family's residence.
"That’s right an 8 year old took mommy’s car this morning and drove to Target in Bainbridge to shop. Thankfully she made it and was immediately located by Bainbridge Police," Bedford Police wrote on Facebook.
The girl was safely returned home. Per reports, she told officers she struck a mailbox while driving, but otherwise made it OK.

"Not sure what she bought, or if she was even able to use her Target app to save 5%," Bedford police joked. "We did let her finish her Frappuccino. We’re not mean."
