Ohio Man Allegedly Killed His Grandfather, Stashed Body Rolled Up In Rug Underneath Deck, Police Say
An Ohio man is accused of killing his grandfather and then hiding the body in a rug behind the home they shared, according to authorities.
Police in Ironton charged Kace Pleasant, 22, with murder, failure to comply with a police officer and tampering with evidence in connection with the recent slaying of 73-year-old Harold Pleasant, WSAZ reported.
The victim’s brother-in-law, Kevin Brown, told the station Kace Pleasant had been living at his grandfather’s home for years.
“He was a really good guy, Kace was,” Brown said. “I just can’t understand why he’d ever think about doing something like this.”
According to police, sanitation department workers phoned 911 after the suspect allegedly tried to get rid of suspicious bags. Officers responding to the call found the bags contained bloody clothing and they were able to identify which residence they came from.
