West Virginia Woman Admits She Murdered Another Woman, Disposed Of Victim’s Body In Well
A West Virginia woman could spend the rest of her life behind bars for fatally shooting another woman whose body was later found in a well.
Virginia Marie Smith, 31, pleaded guilty in Kanawha County Circuit Court on Feb. 23 to first-degree murder, using a firearm in the commission of a felony, and concealment of a body in connection with the death of 35-year-old Cheyenne Johnson, WOWK-TV reported.
In late April 2021, Johnson was reported missing and her remains were discovered in deep water in a well on Virginia Smith’s Sissonville property days later.
The victim had suffered substantial injuries, including a gunshot wound to the head, WSAZ reported.
Smith is scheduled to be sentenced on April 10.
The defendant’s 42-year-old boyfriend, Michael Smith, who is not related to her, was also charged in connection with the case.
