An Alabama man was ordered to serve 30 years behind bars after he pleaded guilty to the murder of his wife.
On May 22, Ronnie Cupps, 40, entered the plea during a virtual hearing, WHNT reported.
The defendant was arrested after he attacked his wife, Teresa Ellen Cupps, “with a claw hammer in the head and face” and killed her in October 2022 at the couple’s home in Huntsville, police said.
Acocrding to WHNT, as part of the deal, Ronnie Cupps agreed to not appeal, and prosecutors dropped three counts of first-degree robbery that had been filed against him. He was also given credit for the time he has already served in connection with the case.
