Woman Accused of Murder After Leaving Boyfriend to Die in Suitcase During Drunken Game of Hide-and-Seek: Cops
The trial of a California woman who was arrested in connection with the suffocation death of her boyfriend will now begin in the fall, officials said.
Sarah Boone is accused of killing her boyfriend, Jorge Torres Jr., during a drunken game of hide-and-seek at the couple’s Winter Park home in February 2020, WFTV reported.
According to prosecutors, Boone zipped Torres up in a suitcase and video allegedly shows her taunting him after he tells her he can’t breathe.
The following day, Boone phoned 911 and claimed that during the hide-and-seek game she and Torres “jokingly thought it would be funny if Jorge got in the suitcase,” states an arrest report obtained by WOFL.
Police claim Boone said she and her boyfriend Torres were drinking wine the evening of the incident and after zipping him in the suitcase she went to their bedroom and fell asleep.
Torres, struggling to breath, died inside the suitcase.
Boone faces a second-degree murder charge.
Citing records, WFTV reported Boone and Torres had a history of domestic violence.
