Police say four women have been arrested after they allegedly abducted a 6-year-old child from another woman at knifepoint in Florida.
Around 11 a.m. on April 20, officers were called to a residence in south Melbourne, according to the Melbourne Police Department.
The victim told responding officers that the child was taken by “multiple female suspects who had attacked her and threatened her with a knife.”
Officials said the women took the child in an SUV that had Alabama plates.
Investigators believed the women are related to the child’s father, who lives in Alabama.
After issuing a statewide bulletin, deputies with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office spotted the vehicle heading west on Interstate 10 about 200 miles away, WKMG reported.
