Texas Man Accused Of Murdering Victim At Homeless Encampment After Pair Got Into Argument
A suspect in Texas is accused of the first-degree murder of a man at a homeless encampment early last month, authorities said.
On July 28, Cesar Lopez, 21, was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Michael Richardson in Austin.
According to officials, on July 9, officers were called to the camp around 7:22 a.m. and they found Richardson suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
“EMS arrived and attempted CPR, but Richardson died on the scene,” officials said.
A preliminary investigation showed Lopez allegedly killed Richardson after the two got into an argument and it "then escalated into a murder,” officials said.
Police did not say what caused the argument.
