An 11-Year-Old Boy Was Taking Out The Trash When A Bullet Hit Him In The Leg, Police Say

An 11-year-old was shot while taking out the trash, and now police say they have caught the suspected shooter.
Around 10 p.m. on Nov. 15, Houston police responded to the shooting of an 11-year-old boy on Briar Forest Drive.
The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The shooting was initially reported as an accident at an apartment complex, police said. When officers arrived, they found the boy with a gunshot to his leg. He said he was taking trash to the dumpster when he was shot.
Investigators identified Noe Fernandez, 22, as the suspect. They said he discharged his gun inside a residence and the bullet hit the boy.
Fernandez was charged with injury to a child.
