RAPPER & ACTIVIST IN HOUSTON SHOT DEAD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD: POLICE

A well-known rapper and community activist in Houston was shot and killed in the middle of the road, according to authorities.
Xavier Roberson, also known as Obe Noir, is a rapper known for his activism in Houston’s Third Ward area. He was fatally shot on March 8 and pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a release from police, witnesses saw Roberson, 31, running down the street after hearing gunfire in the distance.
A vehicle drove around the block like they were chasing him. Two unknown men got out of the vehicle and fired shots at Roberson, who collapsed in the street.
The suspects then fled. Police describe them only as two black males. There have been no arrests in the case as of March 11.
A GoFundMe was started to help take care of Roberson’s funeral costs and estate planning.
“Xavier Roberson...was an incredible incredible man, father, and community leader,” the page says. “A great friend and an amazing artist. A legendary hooper from Houston's 3rd ward. A real one in every way.”
