Vice President Of Youth Services Non-Profit Accused Of Distributing Child Porn
A vice president of a youth services non-profit in Illinois is accused of distributing child pornography.
On May 18, the Dupage County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois announced the arrest of Eric Kroll on multiple child pornography charges. He is being held in jail on $150,000 bond.
An investigation started on the internet about the possession and distribution of child pornography, according to the sheriff’s office. That led police to search Kroll’s home and they found child porn on electric devices.
Police did not say how many images and videos they found.
“I’m so thankful that we have our Digital Forensic Investigation Unit out there working cases like this and getting these predators off the street,” Sheriff James Mendrick said. “Crimes against children are crimes against our future and that will not be tolerated in DuPage County.”
Kroll is a senior business banker and the vice president of the Naperville, Illinois, based KidsMatter. Though, it appears he is no longer listed on the group’s website. KidsMatter is a non-profit that offers various services to 45,000 kids. That includes a crisis text line and a youth mental health forum.
“The allegations against Mr. Kroll are very disturbing,” DuPage County States Attorney Robert Berlin said. “What I find particularly troubling about these allegations is the fact that Mr. Kroll currently serves as Vice President of the Board for Kidsmatter. I would like to stress however, that the allegations against Mr. Kroll are in no way affiliated with Kidsmatter.”
