More Than Two Years After A Teen Was Killed In Illinois, Police Say They Nabbed The Suspect In Mexico.

A manhunt for an Illinois murder suspect that lasted more than two years came to an end when the suspect was caught in Mexico, police announced.
This week, the Mundelein police in Illinois announced they arrested a suspect in connection to the death of 18-year-old Gavile Jackson. He was found dead on May 28, 2020, police said.
Officers released few details about the homicide, but they believed the victim was targeted.

On Dec. 6, 21-year-old Alessis Botello was arrested in connection to the case at his home in Mexico, police said.

“Even though this case was no longer in the headlines, Mundelein Police Officers and investigators with the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force were working behind the scenes to solve this crime. Thanks to their steadfast efforts, we now have a suspect in custody,” said Mayor Steve Lentz.
