A 79-year-old man in Illinois was arrested after he allegedly shot his neighbor in the head during an argument over a loud leaf blower, according to authorities.
Around 7:35 p.m. on April 12, officers responded to a home in Antioch regarding a report of an unresponsive man in the driveway, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said.
Once at the scene, officers found paramedics attempting lifesaving measures on the victim, 59-year-old William Martys, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, police said.
Martys was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined Martys was using a leaf blower in his yard when his neighbor, Ettore Lacchei, approached him and the two started to argue about the gardening tool. Lacchei then allegedly fatally shot Martys, police said.
Police searched Lacchei’s property and recovered a firearm.

"We understand from interviewing witnesses that this neighbor (Lacchei) had confrontations with many different neighbors that live up and down that street," said Lake County Sheriff's Deputy Chief Chris Covelli. "This wasn't the first time that he was seen with a firearm."
On April 25, Lacchei was arrested without incident and booked into the Lake County Jail on two counts of first-degree murder, officials said. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 25.
