A woman has been arrested in connection with a double murder that occurred in April and police are searching for another suspect.
Marina Zrnic, 31, was initially named a person of interest in the case and was arrested again on Sept. 1, Fort Wayne’s NBC reported.
On April 20, police were called to the 800 block of Third Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on reports of a problem unknown, according to CBS 15. The caller told police that there were two unconscious people in the bathroom with blood around them, CBS 15 reported.
One victim, Jennifer Ann Dray, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene, CBS 15 reported. The second victim, Amanda Lee Shroyer, 30, died at the hospital.
According to court documents, a witness said Dray called him saying Joshua Dube was at her home with a gun, taking her belongings, Fort Wayne’s NBC reported.
Police say Dube fled from the house, and officers later found him with a gun, methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin, according to Fort Wayne’s NBC.
Dube told police his brother-in-law had recently died and suspected Dray of intentionally giving him an overdose of drugs, Fort Wayne’s NBC reported.
He told officers he went over to her house to get his brother-in-law’s belongings, according to Fort Wayne’s NBC.
Dube said when he went inside, Dray locked herself in the bathroom with Shroyer, so he texted Zrnic to come and confront her, Fort Wayne’s NBC reported.
Dube said a short time later, someone walked in and “just started shooting” Dray and Shroyer, according to Fort Wayne’s NBC.
Police recovered texts between the two, including one Zrnic sent Dube that stated, “He has no phone make sure you shoot anyone that tried to shoot him you hear me,” Fort Wayne’s NBC reported.
When officers interviewed Zrnic, she said she brought Ron Price, 48, with her to the home as a bodyguard because she knew Dray would be armed, according to Fort Wayne’s NBC.
Zrnic said she didn’t know Price very well and that she would buy “smoke” off him, according to the affidavit obtained by CBS 15.
Zrnic said when she went inside the home, Price pushed past her and started shooting Dray and Shroyer, Fort Wayne’s NBC reported.
Police pulled Zrnic over and brought in for questioning on April 28, and Price was a passenger in her vehicle, according to CBS 15.
Zrnic was later released from police custody before being arrested for the second time this week, CBS 15 reported.
Zrnic is charged with felony murder and robbery, according to Fort Wayne’s NBC. Police are currently searching for Price, who is wanted for murder in the case.
