An Indiana man has been arrested after allegedly attacking his 59-year-old mother and stabbing her in the head with a kitchen knife, according to authorities.
Around 12:20 p.m. on April 24, officers responded to a home in Brownsburg regarding a report of a stabbing, the Brownsburg Police Department announced.
At the scene, officers found Susan Early lying on the ground in the front yard. Neighbors were tending to Early, who had suffered multiple stab wounds and “still had a large kitchen knife protruding from her head,” authorities said.
Officers spoke with the victim, who said her son, 31-year-old Kyle Braun, had “attacked and beaten her in the kitchen of her home.”
Police said they talked with neighbors, who advised them that Bruan fled the scene on foot and indicated his direction of travel.
After a short search, officers located Braun and took him into custody without incident.

Early was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and underwent emergency surgery, officials said.
Braun was reportedly also taken to a local hospital for “superficial wounds to his hand,” but officials said he was later released and booked into the Hendricks County Jail without bond.
He was charged with attempted murder and two counts of battery by bodily waste on an officer.
