Stephen Hamilton Jr. has been arrested after his 14-year-old girlfriend allegedly gave birth to his baby, police said.

An Indiana man was arrested after his underage girlfriend reportedly gave birth to his child, authorities said.

According to court records obtained by WXIN-TV, Stephen Hamilton Jr., 22, and the 14-year-old girl had been dating for about two years, beginning when she was around 12 and he 20.

Officials said they connected through mutual friends and Hamilton told investigators he initially believed she was 16 years old, but they continued to date even after he learned her real age.

Hamilton said he and the teenager enjoyed spending time together, but they never went out in public as a couple, court records state.

The teen’s family did not approve of the pair's relationship, but Hamilton said he did discuss the situation with her mother, WXIN reported.

Officials claim the teen girl told investigators she met Hamilton when she was buying a phone at Walmart, and they began a “sexual relationship.”

Investigators allegedly found text messages and a sexual video involving the teen girl and Hamilton on his phone.

Court records show the teen also said she wasn’t sure if Hamilton was the baby’s father because she was allegedly was raped by a 14-year-old boy.

On Jan. 10, Hamilton was charged with child molesting where the defendant is at least 21 years of age, child molesting, sexual misconduct with a minor, and child exploitation, according to officials.
