A fight between two Indiana men led to gunshots being fired and one man is dead while the other has been arrested for murder, police say.
Around 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 23, Indiana State Police said a fight broke out at a home in Martin County, which led to shots being fired.
Once at the scene, police found 39-year-old Jeremi Jones with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Kestin L. Jones, 22, was charged with murder and was placed in the Martin County Jail, officials said.
While the Martin County Sheriff’s Office was first to respond to the initial call of shots being fired, Indiana State Police was asked to lead the investigation, authorities said.
Both the victim and the suspect have the last name of "Jones," but officials said there is no additional information at this time, including what the relationship is between the two men.
There is no hearing scheduled for Kestin's first court appearance, police said.
