A man in Indiana is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and now faces a murder charge, police said.
On Feb. 12, Indiana State Police troopers responded to a Perry County home for a report of shots fired. Police arrived and saw a shattered glass sliding door and bullet casings.
Officers announced they were police and got no answer, according to Indiana State Police.
The officers went inside the home to look for suspects or victims and found a woman who had been shot to death. The victim was identified as Amber Willis. Police did not find a suspect at the home.
Investigators identified her ex-boyfriend, Phillip Taylor, as a suspect and searched for him. Indiana State Police did not detail what led detectives to identify Taylor as a suspect or a possible motive for the killing.
On Feb. 13, Taylor was found in English, Indiana, and arrested. He was charged with murder and is being held without bond in Perry County jail.
