Man stabbed his 75-year-old father to death, left mom bound and battered, Indiana cops say
A man stabbed his 75-year-old father to death and left his mom bound and battered in an Indiana home, authorities said.
On Feb. 21, police in Carmel, Indiana, responded to a home to help firefighters with a medical call.
When officers arrived, they found David Claerbout, 75, dead from multiple stab wounds, according to Carmel police. A second victim, an unnamed woman, was found partially bound and seriously hurt.
Detectives identified the victims’ son, Christopher Claerbout, 40, as the suspect, according to Carmel police.
Christopher Claerbout fled the area before police arrived, but troopers with the Indiana State Police spotted him on I-65 in Clark County, Indiana. The suspect tried to run from a traffic stop but was later caught.

Claerbout was treated for injuries and then booked into the Hamilton County jail.
Police charged him with murder, criminal confinement with serious bodily injury and domestic battery with serious bodily injury.
Investigators have not released what allegedly caused Christopher Claerbout to attack his parents and said the case remains under investigation.
