A shooting on Thanksgiving in Indiana left one dead and another person facing a murder charge, authorities said.
Around 6:15 p.m. on Nov. 24, deputies from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office in Indiana responded to a reported shooting.
When deputies arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died. The name of the victim has not been released.
Police identified Damion Bryant, 20, as the suspect and he was arrested. A motive in the shooting has not been released.
He was charged with murder and booked into jail.
“The community had three firearm related events on Thanksgiving Day alone. Law enforcement as a whole takes gun violence very seriously and we are no different here at your Sheriff’s office,” Sheriff Matthew A. Myers said. “We will work diligently to bring those who commit violence against members of our community to justice.”
