A Woman in Iowa Got into an Argument with Her Boyfriend. Then She Went Home, Grabbed a Gun and Waited for Him.
A woman got into a fight with her boyfriend at his work. She then went home, armed himself and waited for him to arrive.
Now, she is spending up to a half-century behind bars.
Recently, a judge in Iowa sentenced Beth Guzman to 50 years in prison. She pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for killing her boyfriend, 46-year-old Jeremy Frank, in February 2021, according to KCAU.
Guzman must serve a minimum of 35 years of the sentence, according to the report. Guzman also was ordered to pay $150,000 to the victim’s family.
On Feb. 21, 2021, the deadly shooting occurred at the home of the couple in Dow City, Iowa, according to the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation. Guzman admitted to shooting the victim, hitting him a least one.

She said the crime happened after they got into an argument at his workplace. There was no word on what the argument was over.
Guzman told investigations that she went home, armed herself with a handgun and waited for Frank to arrive.
Hours later, he went to the Dow City residence. Guzman said as soon as he walked through the door, he began yelling. When he reached the bedroom, she started to shoot at him.
Guzman followed the victim and continued to fire at him as he left the home.
Frank made it to his vehicle and drove a short distance before dying from his injuries, authorities said.
