Woman Found Dead In Iowa Home, Violent Ex-Boyfriend Accused Of Murder, Police Said
A woman was murdered in Iowa and now police said her 58-year-old ex-boyfriend is responsible.
Around 1:15 p.m., police in Des Moines, Iowa, went to a home for a welfare check. Family was concerned after they could not reach Rhonda Howard, 56.
When police arrived, they found her dead in the home. Police said they found evidence of a violent attack but did not release further details.
Investigators learned her ex-boyfriend, 58-year-old Tony Arterberry, had been violent towards her in the recent past. He was named as a person of interest, and within 90 minutes, was found walking in downtown Des Moines.
Arterberry was charged with first-degree murder in connection to the case. He was also charged in connection to a May domestic violence incident, police said.
Authorities have not said what led to Howard’s killing.
