Woman Found Shot Dead In Jacksonville, Suspect Arrested A Month Later

A woman in Florida faces a murder charge more than a month after a person was shot dead, authorities said.

This week, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Nicole Hampton, 29, in connection to the case.

On July 22, officers responded to Prospect Street in Jacksonville, Florida, for a reported shooting. When police arrived, they found a woman dead from a shooting.

The victim’s name has not been released.

Hampton was identified as a suspect and apprehended this week. Investigators have not released a motive in the shooting.

She was charged with murder and booked into a Florida jail.
