Suspect Accused Of Murdering North Carolina Sheriff’s Deputy Escapes Jail, Law Enforcement Officials Say
A suspect accused of killing a sheriff’s deputy in North Carolina has escaped from custody in Virginia, according to law enforcement officials.
On May 1, the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office said two inmates escaped from Piedmont Regional jail in Farmville, Virginia.
One prisoner, Alder Alfonso Marin-Sotelo, 26, was arrested and accused of murdering Wake County Deputy Ned Byrd in North Carolina last August, WNCN reported.
The Prince Edward Sheriff’s Office said Marin-Sotelo may have been wearing blue shorts, no shirt, white socks and white tennis shoes or gray sweat pants and sweatshirt when he escaped.
Anyone who sees Marin-Sotelo should immediately call 911.
