The Truth Behind Reality Star Snooki's Infamous 'Jersey Shore' Arrest: 'I Don’t Even Think It’s Legal'
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi says Jersey Shore producers told cops who were in their employ, not the city's, to arrest her on camera in 2010.
Polizzi, 36, made the revelation about the reality TV show's infamous beach scene in the episode "Where's The Beach?" during an appearance on an episode of the Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast.
“Those cops weren’t on shift for the town. They were on shift for the production to make sure that they are protecting us from crazy people," she told Shane. “I don’t even think it’s legal for them to arrest me because they weren’t working for the town. But I watched the video back and one of the producers said, ‘Just arrest her', and they arrested me."
As the police handcuffed her, Polizzi said she "started to black out." She recalled that she had been drinking all day, starting early to relieve a hangover, drinking at work.
“I was like ‘I can’t do this,’” she recalled. “So that’s when I ran. I just ran to the bar. I took shots just to start feeling better, and then I just didn’t stop.”
As she continued drinking, she recalled that she "made out with an old man."

“It was a nightmare, but I had a great time,” she said. After the bar, she tried to make her way to the beach, but had difficulty, famously shouting, "Where's the beach?"
Polizzi was arrested on July 30, 2010, for disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct and criminal annoyance. The charges were later dropped, and she was ordered to serve two days of community service and pay a $500 fine.
