A Kansas man allegedly burglarized and damaged a home before urinating on a school bus with a mother and child inside, police said.
Around 8 a.m. on Feb. 8, officers from the Lawrence Police Department responded to a report of a man acting erratically, WIBW-TV reported.
After noting the alleged behavior of Chandler D. King, 30, of Spring Hill, the woman walking her child to the bus feared for their safety, so they both boarded the bus, police said.
The mother, her son and the bus driver were the only people on the vehicle at the time.
Police said King was armed with a knife and continued acting erratically. He then allegedly proceeded to urinate on the school bus and a nearby sign, all while blocking the bus from leaving.
Once officers arrived at the scene, they were able to deescalate the situation and King was arrested, according to officials.
During the investigation, detectives determined King also allegedly burglarized and damaged a nearby home before making his way to the school bus.
