In September, Wichita police responded to a report of a shooting at an extended-stay hotel in the 9400 block of East Corporate Hills, Kansas, and found 42-year-old Michael Martinez. He was declared dead from a gunshot wound at the scene of an alleged drug deal.

Police said Shae Marie Roberts and Patricio Gomez met Martinez at the hotel for a drug deal, and “a disturbance ensued.” Authorities said Gomez shot Martinez multiple times before the two fled the scene in a black Cadillac Escalade.

Roberts, 35, was arrested last week and booked for first-degree murder in the commission of a felony and distribution of heroin/other stimulants, according to the Sedgwick County Jail in Wichita. Her bond was set at $500,000.

Wichita police are asking for help locating Gomez, who they believe pulled the trigger. Officials warn Gomez should be considered armed and dangerous given his lengthy rap sheet.

Gomez, 31, has been convicted of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of aggravated battery and four counts of criminal discharge of a firearm, according to Kansas Department of Corrections records.

“Due to the violent past of the suspect and the violent incident on Thursday, the WPD SWAT team and crisis negotiators responded to assist,” Wichita Police said in a statement. They have since recovered the Escalade,

Roberts is due back in court on Oct. 14.
