A 78-year-old man is accused of killing his 68-year-old neighbor this week, according to reports.
On May 6, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest of Raymond Maloney, 78, in connection to the killing of Richard Diehl on May 4.
The two men were neighbors, according to KSN. Maloney was booked in to jail and charged with first-degree murder.
Around 10 a.m. on May 3, police were called to a home after a man was found dead in the shop outside his home in La Harpe, Kansas, police said. A family member found the victim, Diehl, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy determined he died of a homicide, but police have not said how he was killed.
The investigation is ongoing. A motive for the killing has not been released.
