5-year-old dies from blunt force trauma, mom and boyfriend charged: report
A 5-year-old child died from blunt force trauma and now the victim’s mother and boyfriend face charges, authorities in Kentucky said.
Last week, police in Meade County, Kentucky, responded to a home for a report of a boy who wasn’t breathing, according to WLKY.
The boy was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to WLKY. The coroner’s office determined the 5-year-old died from blunt force trauma.
Police arrested the victim’s mom, Kayla Irwin, 28, and her boyfriend, Daniel Cleamans, 40, in connection to the death. They were charged with complicity to murder and booked into Meade County jail, according to WLKY. Their bonds were each set at $250,000.
An arrest report noted both were present when the boy was injured, according to WLKY. But police have not revealed how the boy was injured.
Police say the boy had multiple bruises when he died.
